I went out after work today looking for a compelling September Equinox image. (September Equinox is the preferred term as it's not northern hemisphere centric.) I failed to find anything, what with clouds low on both the east and west horizons, the ongoing drought causing most of the local ponds to be virtually dry, etc...

However, all was not lost...earlier in the day the juvenile Cooper's Hawk that's been hanging around the yard paid another visit, this time posing long enough to get a couple of shots through the window.
